Celebrating after representing GB in Triathlon in 2010 for my age group (don’t ask)! I’ve represented GB in my age group in several international races: European Triathlon Championships, European Duathlon Championships (winning Bronze medal) and World Duathlon Championships. Triathlon racing (swim 1500 metres, cycle 40 km, run 10 km) is hard work but, surprisingly, is not as physically challenging as Duathlon (run 10 km, cycle 40 km and run 5 km) where the extra run takes its toll. Fortunately I work part-time, so that allows me to train a few hours per day, six days a week.
I have two part-time jobs: firstly with Bolton Priestley and secondly with the Citizens Advice Bureau. For Bolton Priestley I work as Company Secretary and I also carry out payroll and HR functions. I also enjoy the role of Investors In People Champion, made easy because everyone within the company embraces the philosophy and good working practices advocated by IIP. At the CAB I advise clients on a range of different issues, commonly debt, employment and relationship breakdown, and supervise a team of general advisers.
My family is very important to me, and is a constant source of fun and support, especially my three sons and husband, Chris.
