Structural Form
The super-structure comprises of load bearing masonry and isolated steel beams and columns, supporting pre-cast pre-stressed hollow-core planks at first floor and a timber cut roof. The Recreation Hall structure is a braced steel frame with a proprietary cladding system. The 2m cross fall over the footprint of the building, accommodates under croft facilities for services etc.
Comments
The existing site had accommodated workshops and fuel tanks consequently localised contamination of the ground needed to be dealt as part of the enabling works.
